Our Story

Humble beginings

Honu Wear was created to honor my grandfather’s journey—one of courage, resilience, and the enduring spirit of Hawai'i. He immigrated from Japan, spending time in Hawai'i before continuing his journey to the mainland.

Shortly after, his family was sent to the internment camps, eventually relocated to Topaz. Despite these hardships, he held onto the values of strength, kindness, and love—principles we carry forward in every piece we create. The Honu, or sea turtle, symbolizes longevity, protection, and the unwavering journey home—just like his.
